More About the King's

The King family was established on August 12, 2006.

Mr. and Mrs. King complement each other well, and make a great team, and when you throw their little dog Toby into the mix, you have a recipe for excitement, drama, and the unpredictable!

Here is a little glimpse of what we are like:

King's queen loves to sing, read, write, and spend time with her hubby. Being a true introvert at heart, her perfect idea of a well-spent afternoon is snuggling up with a cup of tea, a good book, and/or her journal. This drives Mr. The King crazy (He is the definitive extrovert!), but he is starting to understand her need for peace and quiet. King's queen also enjoys being outdoors. She loves to meditate on God's creation and try to capture some of the glory of His great artistry in photographs. She has many other interests and hobbies, which sadly she doesn't have much time for anymore because of her two jobs. These interests include gardening, crafting, cooking, and yoga. She hopes to have more time for those interests in the future!

Mr. The King loves being outdoors, hanging out with his "wifey," listening to good music, and playing the drums. His idea of the perfect day is hiking in the mountains, camping by a stream, and gazing at the stars, all with his "wifey" of course (although she drives him crazy by taking photos every five steps of the hike)! Mr. The King has always enjoyed good music, and he fell madly in love with King's queen the instant he heard her sing. Although, he doesn't have much time to practice or many opportunities to play with other musicians, he takes great pleasure in "banging on the drums" (which often drives his wife batty)! He routinely carries a pair of drum sticks in the car so that he can pound a beat on the steering wheel while at traffic lights (or driving down the road...scary!) He also enjoys working with sound equipment and audio editing programs.

Mr. The King and King's queen are unusual to some because they do practically everything together. They are best friends and enjoy spending time together, whether it is relaxing at home and watching their favorite movies and TV shows or hiking, camping or picnicking in a park.

The King's also love playing games!! At home Wii "tournaments" and board game marathons are a mainstay, and they love including friends and family in the game playing fun! Another game that they love to play is the world-wide GPS scavenger hunt game, geocaching!

A constant source of both entertainment and frustration for the King's is their little dog, Toby!

Toby is a hyper and lovable Jack Russell Terrier mix who came into the King family via adoption from a run down animal shelter about an hours drive away from the town where the King's live. They went to great lengths to find him after King's queen caught the "puppy bug" while visiting a pet store. Since the $700 Puggle was not an option, King's queen decided that adopting from a shelter was the right thing to do. The first time they saw him, Toby capture the heart of both of the King's, and in October of 2007, at the age of 6 weeks, he became a permanent member of the King family.

Toby is very intelligent, hyper, loyal, lovable, and mischievous!! Mr. The King spent much time training him as a puppy, and he caught on rather fast. However, Toby is a mischievous "independent thinker" with a touch of ADHD, so he is not always the best at following orders, and within six months of moving to a house with a fenced yard (just for him), he discovered that he could bound over the fence and explore the neighborhood in search of other dogs, various wildlife (rabbits, birds and squirrels), and delectable trash (yuck!) He is very loyal and protective (especially of King's queen) and makes us think of the dog, Dug, from the movie "Up,"  except he is smarter and a better hunter!

Is it terrible that we can write more about or dog then we can about ourselves?

As you can see, Toby is like a child to us, and he is sooo spoiled.   He even sleeps and our bed We even sleep in his bed! We think that he is the sweetest cutest puppy in the world!

Well, we hope you are enjoying our blog, and we hope you have enjoyed this little glimpse of who we are and what we're about. Stay tuned to KINGdom Encounters for more insight into our lives!!

Many Blessings,

The King Family
