Today, I want to praise the Lord, my vision, for He brings sight to my eyes and brings His will into focus in my life.
Worship trains our hearts to see God, to see Him at work in the world around us and in our own lives. So often we are wearing the blinders of the world, and we can not see all the ways He protects us and cares for us. He loves us so much and wants us to see with His eyes, His vision.
My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.Don’t lose sight of them.Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.
Proverbs 4:20-22,25 NLTLook straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
When we worship the Lord in song and proclaim His Word and His promises over our lives, our vision is retrained. We see less of this world and our problems and more of our loving Father! His Words penetrate our heart and we begin to see with His eyes.
Two of my most favorite hymns talk about making Christ our vision, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus & Be Thou My Vision.
Today, I ask the Lord again to be my vision, to keep my focus on Him, and to penetrate my heart deeply with His love and purpose for me. Sing these familiar words with me and let's worship the Lord, our vision!Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful faceAnd the things of earth will grow strangely dimIn the light of His glory and grace
Be Thou My VisionBe Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;Naught be all else to me, save that Thou artThou my best Thought, by day or by night,Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.High King of Heaven, my victory won,May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
Once we focus on Him we can't help but worship :)
