Who We Are
As I sit here staring at my computer screen, I ponder how one should begin to describe this journey that we are on. Life for the King family, thus far, has been an unpredictable mixture of "joy and pain" and "sun and rain," as one of my favorite David Crowder Band songs puts it, but through it all, we know that God has a plan and he will never let go of us!
As we begin to record this journey, we want you to know a little bit about us and our background. My husband and I (king and king's queen, as we will be refering to ourselves), met at the christian college we attended, and we have now been married for almost 5 years (August 12th is our 5th Anniversary!). We have no children (although we hope to some day), only one crazy puppy, a Jack Russell mix named Toby, who we adopted from a shelter in 2007. We are both passionate about God and ministry, and currently serve on staff at a small inner city church (among many other ministry endeavors). We lead a busy life, but we hope that we will be able to keep up with this blog and that you will find hope and inspiration in our journey!
What To Expect
I (king's queen) have been blogging for a while now on my own (artistofthesoul.tumblr.com), but recently, I was inspired by a new friend, Mrs. C of crokers-hephzibah.blogspot.com, to do a more personal blog about life for the King family. On their blog, the Crokers have feature days, where they discuss certain subjects that they want to explore and share on a regular basis. I loved that idea so much that I decided to adapt it for KINGdom Encounters. So, here is what you can expect from us as you come with us on this journey:
Ministry Monday's: On Monday's, we will talk about our ministry goals and aspirations as well as give updates about our ministries and other ministries that we admire.
Worship Wednesday's: On Wednesday's, we will explore the subject of worship including, what it means to worship, the different ways we worship, and some of our favorite worship music.
Feeling Fabulous Friday's: Friday's will be reserved for focusing on taking care of ourselves. We have been known to neglect ourselves both physically and spiritually, so on this day, we will share inspirations and revelations about caring for ourselves: body, mind, and soul!
So, what can you expect from the other days of the week?
Expect the unexpected, as we share our stories, our struggles, and our successes!!
