A Busy Bee's Life

I would like to start this post first by making an apology to God, to King's Queen and you our faithful readers. Last week our church hosted a vacation bible school where I taught the youth each night. Of course this means I had five bible studies to prepare for in addition to Sunday School and our regular student worship on Sunday night on top of still working my "DAY JOB". I did not have Saturday to catch up because we hosted a carnival day to close down a great week of VBS. Short version... man have I been busy this last week!!! Yesterday being the Fourth of July holiday, although I did have to work six hours, I also relaxed and spent time with family and friends. That was my list of reasons why I could not post on our blog. However the more I thought about the reasons the more I realized the reasons were actually excuses. To be perfectly honest blogging is not my thing. I only agreed to coauthor this blog page when I found out how important it was to my wife. She was inspired by a friend of hers who writes a blog with her husband. King's Queen wanted so much for us to do the same. I love my wife but many times fall short of being the Christian husband that I should be.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. (NKJV)
It seems that I lack the discipline to give of myself toward my wife when I am tired or stress out over other things. Honey, I am sorry that I chose not to make this blog and having the joy of doing something along side of my wife a priority last week... I pray that I can do better in the future.

This apology must also be extended to God. Making posts that encourage people to draw closer to God is part of my ministry to God. Although most of my excuses... I mean "reason" for not posting are for other ministry opportunities, if I truly feel God leading me to partner up with my wife and do this I need to follow through and do it. I imagine Jesus on the cross taking the nails and the thorns but when it came time for the spear he said stop this is just too much, I'm too tired, the pain is too much to bear. Jesus took the full calling of the CROSS, should we be any different. If God calls us to do something we cannot pick and choose what is and what is not relevant or needed; We must go all in. There was no fine print of exclusions, such as we find in media contests "some exclusions may apply", to the following verse.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come
after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (NKJV)
God, my prayer is that you give me the strength and discipline that I lack so much to serve in the capacities in which you have called me despite the circumstances in my life.

My final apology is to you, our faithful readers. You log onto this blog seeking a story that will make you laugh, a devotion that will deepen your relationship with God, or encouragement and insight into struggles and questions of life. For me to bring this list of "excuses" to you is simply unacceptable. I am sorry and hope that God grants me the discipline to be there with a new post for those times you need it the most.

  1. I dont think you need to say sorry. however, I love how you want to rededicate to giving that bit extra for your wife - so sweet and honorable too!
and I get you when you ask God to teach you and help you in the area of discipline and the ability to push on for the greater good... Its tough to learn, expecially when you're battling very hard things on your life. I always fail on this!
